He was wearing a black winter jacket and a black ski mask. The members of the media ran back to the media room where the group barricaded themselves behind the doors and stayed until things calmed down. On the other end of the hallway next to where the men and security were wrestling was the tournament ballroom and mass hysteria ensued. European Poker Tour Berlin has just been robbed by six gunmen with machine guns. It is alleged that they have made off with less than a million Euros from the poker tournament. One of the guards was injured trying to capture one of the robbers. It seems everyone is okay except for the guard who was injured in the head. A gang of masked robbers with guns attacked the European Poker Tour held in central Berlin on Saturday, escaping with some one million euros and injuring players, police said. The armed robbery took place at central Berlin’s Grand Hyatt Hotel, when six masked men burst into the hall with nearly 1000 players who are participating in the poker tournament. Some videos recorded at the scene showed that the robbers prompted a brief panic, people scattering and desks toppled. Berlin’s Tageszeitung newspaper reported on its website that the robbers had Kalashnikov assault rifles and grenades in hands and asked security staffs to stand still. Four robbers stormed the hotel while two others were on the lookout. Police said some poker players were injured, though not seriously. The robbers took away around one million euros. An investigation is underway. Police hoped any one who has video footage or photographs would contact them.
